Erin K. Copeland is a native Houstonian born in 1973. She graduated cum laude with a B.A. in Radio-Television from the School of Communications at the University of Houston. During undergraduate school, Erin clerked at Gulf Coast Legal Foundation assisting underprivileged families in all areas of family practice. She attended South Texas College of Law where she competed on the varsity mock trial team and served as an officer on the school's Board of Advocates, earning multiple speaker awards and South Texas College of Law Advocacy Scholarships for 1998-1999, and 1999-2000.
Experienced Personal Injury Lawyer
Since earning her law license in 2000, Erin’s practice has been focused on personal injury where she represents clients at hearings, trials, appeals, arbitration, and mediation in both state and federal courts across the country. Erin has argued numerous motions and participated in countless depositions on a variety of cases ranging from simple consumer disputes and construction defects to catastrophic injuries and wrongful death. She has worked on behalf of families who have lost loved ones in nursing homes, hospitals, on the roads, on oil rigs, and in Iraq due to another’s wrongful conduct - in some cases earning her clients more than a million dollars in recovery.
Aside from handling a diverse individual case docket, Erin is managing the transvaginal mesh litigation for the firm. She is also part of a team of award winning veteran trial attorneys representing hundreds of victims of a variety of dangerous products and pharmaceuticals. The firm has cases pending in jurisdictions across the country.
Erin is currently licensed to practice law in both Texas and Missouri. She is also admitted to practice in the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit, the Southern District of Texas, and the Eastern District of Texas as well as other jurisdictions by pro hac vice admission. She was certified as an Attorney Ad Litem in Texas in 2009 and has been trained in both general civil and family law mediation. She is also a volunteer mediator for the Harris County Dispute Resolution Center.
As a result of peer nomination, Erin was recently appointed to the Executive Committee of the National Trial Attorneys – Top 40 Under 40 Trial Attorneys, which is a professional organization comprised of America’s top young trial attorneys. Membership into organization is by invitation only and is extended exclusively to those individuals who exemplify superior qualifications, trial results, and leadership as a young lawyer under the age of 40.
