Fisher v Halliburton / KBR Inc.
Lane v Halliburton / KBR Inc.

"Plaintiffs’ lawyer Tommy Fibich said KBR’s effort to blame others is like taking people to the zoo, “pushing them into the polar bear pit and blaming the polar bear for killing them....They knew they were going to be attacked and they sent them out there anyway for commercial and business reasons and they want to blame others"
- Houston Chronicle, 4/23/09

6 killed, 14 wounded.

"'They were sacrificed for the profit of KBR,' said Tommy Fibich, whose client is still in a coma. Fibich said most of the drivers were promised that their safety would come first..."

Sent unarmed convoy into combat zone

The civilian contractors and families of the dead claim that in April 2004 Halliburton's KBR sent an unarmed supply convoy into active combat zone misrepresenting the risk, knowing they would be attacked.

After intensive investigation, Tommy Fibich and co-lead counsel Scott Allen filed suit on behalf of the wounded and the families of the dead.

Civilian contractos deserve protection

Civilian contractors face risks working in war zones but that does not excuse their employers from placing them in the direct line of fire. These men and women do not take these jobs to be sent unarmed into active combat zones, to be made vulnerable to deadly attack.

People are not expendable. The case is ongoing.

The fact is the company treated these employees like they were military and totally disregarded the implications and risks to civilians,” Fibich said.
