Michael Josephson is a trial lawyer with Fibich Hampton Leebron Briggs & Josephson, LLP, in Houston, Texas. Michael has been a leader and a pioneer in developing successful strategies in wage and hour litigation against major processing companies, nationwide retailers, refineries, school districts, call centers and food service industries.
He has helped thousands of individuals to recover their back wages and is repeatedly designated as class counsel in lawsuits to recover unpaid wages and benefits. Many cases in which Michael was involved have resulted in changes in company practices that have improved the lives of both salaried and hourly workers. Michael strongly believes that employees should receive a fair day’s pay for a hard day’s work. Michael is not afraid to take on any company, anywhere in the country when he believes that employees are being cheated out of their pay.
In addition to his extensive wage and hour practice, Michael regularly represents landowners in contamination lawsuits against oil and gas companies. Michael strongly believes in protecting the environment and has taken on some of the largest oil and gas companies in the world in order to force them to remediate and repair the damage their operations have caused to both the surface and groundwater of his client’s properties.

Michael maintains a nationwide practice and regularly appears in courts located throughout the country. Michael has extensive trial experience in both state and federal court. He has published numerous articles and routinely gives speeches concerning wage and hour litigation.
Focused on preserving your rights
Michael believes in the civil justice system and preserving the right to a jury trial. He is an active member of the American Association for Justice, Houston Trial Lawyers Association (HTLA) and the Texas Trial Lawyers Association (TTLA). Michael currently serves on the Board of Directors for both HTLA and TTLA. In the past he has served as Chair of the Board of Advocates, and been a member of TTLA’s Communication Committee, TTLA’s Political Action Committee, TTLA’s Finance Committee and HTLA’s long-range planning committee. Michael is a strong supporter of Texas Watch.
Native Texan
Michael is a native Houstonian and the son of Richard and Barbara Josephson. Michael is married to Jill Gachman Josephson and they have three children—Jack, Natalie and Colin. Michael is also the proud parent of two dogs—Bubba and Hank. When he’s not working, Michael spends all of his free time with his family.
